Coaching Triad

CCEUs: 1.5 in Core Competencies


Here's What You’ll Gain

  • Enhanced Coaching Skills: In your role as Coach, you’ll gain practice implementing the ICF Core Coaching Competencies and the valuable opportunity for self-reflection and feedback, allowing you to assess and enhance your coaching style.

  • New Perspective: In your role as Client, you'll gain valuable perspective on different coaching strategies and better understand the emotional and psychological dynamics of being in a receptive role, which can enhance your empathy and effectiveness when coaching others.

  • Critical Evaluation Skills: In your role as Observer, you’ll use the provided feedback form to critically evaluate coaching interactions, deepening your understanding of the ICF Core Coaching Competencies and how to apply them effectively. It also sharpens your feedback skills, essential for constructive coaching.

  • Continuing Education: Earn 1.5 CCEUs in Core Competencies, contributing to your re-certification requirements.

  • Coaching Hours: Earn 1 reciprocal coaching hour that counts toward certification.


Eligibility Criteria

This program is perfect for newer coaches but welcomes participants from all experience levels who adhere to the ICF Core Coaching Competencies. We strive to match participants with similar experience levels, although this depends on the profiles of those who register.



Here’s How it Works

  1. Registration: Register Here for a Coaching Triad by the last day of the month to participate in the upcoming month's round.

    ICF Sacramento Chapter Members: $49

    Non-Members $99


  2. How to Start: You’ll receive an introductory email connecting you with your Triad members within the first week of the month you signed up for. This email includes instructions for self-managing the sessions and an Observation Form.
    • Once introduced, coordinate among yourselves to set your session dates and
      decide who will take on the roles of Participant A, B, and C.


  3. Complete All Three Sessions: Your Triad can meet in-person or via video calls to finish all sessions within one month.

  4. Complete the Feedback Form: During the last week of the month, you will receive a link to a survey to provide feedback on your experience and request your CCEUs.

Reciprocal Coaching


This is a great opportunity to practice your skills and earn six reciprocal coaching hours by participating as both a coach and a client.

Here’s How it Works

  1. Registration: Register Here for Reciprocal Coaching by the last day of the month to participate in the upcoming month's round. Each round is 12 weeks long.

    ICF Sacramento Chapter Members: $49

    Non-Members $99


  2. How to Start: You’ll receive two introductory emails within the first week of the month you signed up for,
    one to your coach and one to your client.

  3. Schedule Sessions: Schedule coaching sessions separately with your coach and your client.
    Options for meeting include in-person or video calls.

  4. Complete Sessions: Complete the program within the twelve-week period.

  5. Complete the Feedback Form: During week 12, you will receive a link to a survey to provide feedback on the experience,
    report coaching hours earned, and request your CCEUs.

Participant Expectations for Peer Coaching Programs


Our self-managed peer coaching programs thrive on teamwork and collective effort.  Your active engagement and support create a nurturing environment where everyone can succeed.  Commitment and collaboration from each participant are key to fostering a productive learning space.

Below are the expectations that guide participant conduct and commitment within the peer coaching programs:

Completion:
 
Commit to completing the program within the specified timeframe.  Participants work directly with co-participants to reschedule when conflicts arise.


Timely Communication:
 
Respond promptly to communications from co-participants to keep things moving toward timely completion.


Active Engagement:
 
Be prepared for each coaching session, bring relevant issues or topics for discussion, and actively engage in the coaching process.


Confidentiality and Professionalism:
 
Maintain confidentiality regarding any personal or sensitive information shared during coaching sessions. Treat all members with respect, professionalism, and courtesy.


Adherence to Ethical Guidelines:
 
Follow all ethical guidelines and professional standards set by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).


Constructive Feedback:
 
Provide thoughtful, constructive feedback based on observations. Feedback should be specific, actionable, and supportive, aimed at helping your co-participant improve their coaching skills.


Technology Use:
 
Have access to, and are familiar with, the necessary technology to participate effectively in online sessions, including reliable internet access and video conferencing tools.
