Biography
A coach is invaluable to a new manager or transitioning leader. How do I know? Because I was once that new leader - wanting to feel competent as a new manager, but instead feeling in over my head. I’d spent more than a decade training, taking classes and preparing for the role of leadership. And my first year as a new manager was the most exciting, the most demoralizing, and the most confusing time in my career.
As a coach, and just as a person, I find great pleasure in helping, in supporting others in finding and becoming their best selves. When it comes to transitioning or new emerging leaders, I understand how alone one might feel, and how tough it is to hold onto your confidence, the knowledge that you are capable and able to do the job. I count it a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey, supporting you in meeting the challenges with new insight, exploring options that are far outside your comfort zones, finding clarity and the strength needed to take action and make changes. Given the opportunity, I will commit to helping you to develop to your full potential.
As a Strategic leader, with a proven track record for building and leading effective cross-functional, multi-site and multi-business teams, driving change initiatives and implementing organizational strategies – I’ve always believed, that being a leader meant serving someone else – providing the tools, clearing the path, empowering others to do their job. And I still do. That first leadership position was the best, and the worst job I’d ever had. I didn’t know what I didn’t know. But through that experience, I learned how important having a coach could be. Without one, I literally drowned those first two years in my new position. I believe, even more strongly now, that coaching is a necessity to the growth and development of new or aspiring leaders.
